The devil cant! You are absolutely right. Read the book of Job. Everything that the Devil did to Job had to have Gods permission. Now as sick and twisted as that may sound, the bottom line is that the Devil had no power to do anything to Job without gaining Gods approval. So any good Christian (God save me from your followers) who says the devil made them do it, just acknowledge that either they used their own free will or God let the devil have his way with them. I would think out of the two choices, the choice of free will would be more likely. Unless of course, your name is Job

If I remember that story correctly... Job still chose to do the right things he was just punished terribly for it. Poor soul! I have to keep asking myself... Just who wants a God that twisted? I couldn't come up with stuff like that when I had people around begging me to be devious. Be good, do as you're told and you get rewarded (ok, the reward may be the riding crop if I feel like it)

Well Job did get angry and chastize God but then God gave him the lecture from hell (so to speak) and Job felt bad and forgave God. After loosing his family, his living, his everything and then suffering terrible illness. God allowed the Devil to test Job. In fact the book of Job is the only place in the bible that you "sarcasm" from God. If you read what he said to Job when Job began to break, it is pure, dripping sarcasm.

I DON'T EXACTLY KNOW HOW IT GOT TO THE BIBLE BUT I GUESS WE CAN RUN WITH THAT.
THE BIBLE IS FULL OF CONTRADICTIONS ANYWAYS. SINCE IT IS WRITTEN BY PEOPLE FOR PEOPLE IT IS ONLY NATURAL. THE KING JAMES VERSION IS THE WORST IN MY OPINION BECAUSE IT IS JUST THAT. KING JAMES HAD IT ALTERED TO SUIT HIS NEEDS. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. I SUPPOSE THE BIBLE IS MORE OF A GUIDELINE HOW WE ALL SUPPOSE TO LIVE BUT...... ONE PART SAYS YOU SHALL NOT KILL AND AN OTHER PART SAYS AN EYE FOR AN EYE. I DON'T THINK THAT THE BIBLE IS TO BE TAKEN WORD BY WORD.

I agree. And I have studied it extensively for a very long time. In old testament it says that Divination, prophecy and such are sins against God. In the new testament in 1st or 2nd Corrinthians it says that each person was given a different gift from God and among those gifts may be Prophecy, divination, speaking in tongues, healing etc. Now why would he give you a gift you are not supposed to use?

I have very different beliefs then most Witches that I have encountered and even that throws me off, if I give someone a gift I intend them to use it.
