i dont understand wat is a B.O.S and y do u need it???

A BOS is a Book Of Shadows. It is basically a witches journal. Filled with her/his thoughts, spells tried, results of spell work, recipes for oils, insense, teas, or the more "mundane" like breads, cookies, whatever is important to you. Some are better at this than others.

It is recomened that when you first start to learn that you keep this type of journal. Date entries, and go back through things periodicaly. It will help you keep track of perception changes and progress made on your journey. It can even help to point you on the right path to fix things when they start to go wrong in your life. We are just like other people, we have problems too.

Materials are unimportant. A BOS can be as simple or as elaborate as you want it to be. I have a few, mostly spiral notebooks. But I also have a couple of three ring binders filed to overflowing with things passed down. The most important thing is that this is PERSONAL. It is meant for noone elses eyes but yours.

Your Book of Shadows can be most any book with blank pages or even a three ring binder. Things you would include would be spells, things you write, symbols and there meanings, and most anything you like. As for a Ritual like all your tools you would want to bless and consent crate the book. Removing all negative energy's from the book.
Myself I have a written book and a computer copy. My written book has things I feel are important in my life. It's a record of my path and as such I do not let many people hold it. But this is something you have to decide .

I CALL IT A RECIPE BOOK BUT IT IS ALSO LIKE A PERSONAL LEDGER.
SOME EVEN KEPT THEIR WHOLE "LEDGER" SOLEY ON THE COMPUTER. BUT SHININGRAVENWOLF IS RIGHT.... IT NEEDS TO BE BLESSED TO KEEP BAD ENERY OUT AND SINCE IT CONTAINS YOUR PERSONAL STUFF YOU MIGHT WANT TO KEEP IT MORE PRIVATE.

Grimoires and Books of Shadows are different to each person. I have 20 different ones and each one contains something different. Some have only healing spells while others have dark magick, one is a journal where I log my experiences with different things. I have one that is a list of tools and colors, aromas and herb usage etc. It has turned into being more like an encyclopedia collection (lol) but depending on what I am working with, I know which book to have at my side. I found that to be better than flipping through pages.

I GOT AN OLD HERB BOOK FROM GERMANY AND I'M HAVING A HECK OF A TIME TO FIGURE OUT THE ENGLISH NAME FOR THOSE HERBS AND IF THEY ARE EVEB AVALIBLE IN THE U.S. BUT I LIKE IT BECAUSE IT COMES IN VERY HANDY SOMETIMES. FOR EXAMPLE IT TOOK ME A WHILE TO FIGURE OU THAT THE "BALDRIAN" IS VALERIUM. I THOUGHT THAT IT WAS CATNIP. OH WELL, I FIGURE IT OUT EVENTUALLY.
