While the glamour of magic as a means of personal improvement is one of the most attractive aspects of the Craft, this same power can be utilized to make a difference in the entire global community. It is a given that thought creates reality and that this has a universal effect on humanity and the world we live on even though the individual may have no conscious knowledge of that fact. As trained magicians, those in the Craft can focus their energies to help raise the level of enlightenment for the whole human race.
It has been proven through scientific research that there does seem to be a global consciousness that is shared on a subconscious level across the entire spectrum of humanity around the globe. In the early 1970's Rupert Sheldrake, a biologist at Princeton University, began studying what amounts to a globally shared morphogenic field which contains information much like an electromagnetic field carries energy. This field of global subconscious contains all the information in existence although most of it goes unrealized. The greater the amount of shared conscious knowledge on a specific topic there is, the easier it is for the essence of that knowledge to be realized by others.
While science is reluctant to apply metaphysical terms to what they discover, this morphogenic field, as it is referred to by the Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research project, is what we would refer to as the Akashic Record. That this body of knowledge that can be shared among humanity has been proven outside the magical community should help those who practice the Art of Magic. It should help them to more successfully create the force of will and faith within themselves to realize that what they do is indeed creating a new reality on a daily basis.
Over the past forty years it has been scientifically shown that humanity can instinctively pick up on major traumatic and emotional events as they happen even with no knowledge at that moment of why they are experiencing the emotions. We as practitioners of the white arts can use this to turn our trained abilities more towards universal goals of attainment and enlightenment for the world population. It has been shown that there is a critical point at which enough people sharing a specific knowledge can raise the consciousness of everyone.
Knowing that this power exists and affects the world is cause to redouble one's efforts at 'putting their soul-power to the karmic wheel' for the betterment of the entire race. It does possibly entail diminishing a bit of one's ego to seek for the common good over personal desires. This does not mean that one should give up working for individual improvements, just that they should always keep their work on the level that nothing they do creates discord or harm to another.
This basic tenant of both WiccaCraft and the universal spirit force does help to slowly raise the enlightenment level of everyone. If enough people learn the ways of peacefully cohabitation on this world, then it will carry through this morphogenic field to the point that it becomes knowledge shared by all. It is not hard to see that the thought patterns of commercialism, tribalism and self-aggrandizement so prevalent in the secular thought patterns of the majority of humans has brought this planet and its people to the brink of disaster.
We are the thin psychic line that stands against total annihilation of the human spirit. We should always be cognizant that what we create for ourselves has its repercussions on the entire world. If we strive to always keep those actions on a positive keel this will help inject an element of positive energy onto everything around us. Realizing this, we may opt for spending more effort on the universal needs than just a personal gain. With vigilance in our actions there is a way to create a 'heaven' on earth, or at least, a more enlightened attitude about life in general.
